On Saturday morning at 0947 hours, EAFD with mutual assistance from Lima, York and Caledonia as the FASTeam were dispatched to a structure fire on Nations Road in the South Avon area of our district. Battalion Chief Pellegrino confirmed a working fire and requested numerous mutual aid departments to the scene due to the remote location and need to set up a water supply as well as extinguish the surrounding corn field that had caught fire. Crews were able to bring the fire under control and had extensive overhaul after the extinguishment. Our thoughts are with the family affected by this fire as they work through a difficult time.
Thank you to all of the departments that assisted us on scene and the Henrietta and East Bloomfield Fire Departments for covering our district while we were out. EAFD was in service for roughly 10 hours on the incident.
