On Saturday, our members took time out of their weekend to better themselves in live fire and rescue scenarios. EAFD firefighters, joined by our neighbors from Livonia Fire Department, traveled to Town Line Fire Department’s burn facility in Lancaster. This facility offers a very realistic training experience so that our members and our neighbors may work on gaining familiarity with one another in an extreme environment, and working through multiple challenges that would likely be present in a real emergency situation. The day wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of Town Line Volunteer Fire Department’s staff, and also a huge thank you to Irondequoit and Spencerport Fire Departments for covering the town of Avon so we could travel to Erie County.
Firefighters from both Departments showed their true commitment to the communities they serve, giving up their Saturday to better themselves and obtain more knowledge. Job well done!
